5th Open Science Meeting "Pathways to Sustainable and Just Land Systems"

On November 4-8, 2024, we held our fifth Open Science Meeting (OSM) in Oaxaca, Mexico. The event brought together over 600 scientists from 52 countries to explore pathways to sustainable and just land systems. GLP also supported the attendance of 34 Global Scholars. The meeting offered a dynamic program with over 90 sessions, featuring over 550 presentations across traditional research presentations and innovative, immersive formats.

4th Open Science Meeting "Transforming Land Systems for People and Nature"

On April 26-26, 2019, we held our fourth Open Science Meeting (OSM) in Bern, Switzerland. The event brought together over *** scientists from *** countries to explore pathways to sustainable and just land systems. GLP also supported the attendance of 34 Global Scholars. 3rd Open Science Meeting "Land system science: understanding realities and developing solutions"

On October 24-27, 2016, we held our third Open Science Meeting (OSM) in Beijing, China, hosted by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). The event brought together almost 700 scientists, and confirmed the importance of interdisciplinary and multi-level perspectives on land use as a core of solving trade-offs and developing sustainable development pathways in response to the recently endorsed Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

2nd Open Science Meeting "Land Transformations: between global challenges and local realities"

From March 19 to 21, 2014, more than 650 participants from 50 countries attended the second Open Science Meeting (OSM) in Berlin, Germany, hosted IRI THESys in cooperation with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin's Geography Department. The conference aimed to bring together large parts of the international research community working on land change issues, showcase the width and scope of ongoing research, help build a community in this highly interdisciplinary field, and inspire new research and facilitate review, theory building and extrapolation.

1st Open Science Meeting "Land Systems, global change and sustainability"

The first Open Science Meeting (OSM) took place October 17-19, 2010, at Arizona State University in the United States. It aimed to bring together large parts of the international research community working on land change issues, showcase the width and scope of ongoing research, help build a community in this highly interdisciplinary field, inspire new research, and facilitate review, theory building and extrapolation.
