About Zenebe Reta's Work

Zenebe Reta Roba is a distinguished Lecturer and Senior Researcher at Mattu University, where he currently serves as the Dean of the College. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in GIS and Remote Sensing, equipping him with advanced expertise in spatial data analysis and its applications in environmental science and natural resource management. With extensive research experience, Zenebe has focused on key areas including general forestry, climate science, land use and land cover change, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable natural resource management. He has actively participated in numerous research projects that address pressing environmental challenges and contribute to evidence based policy and sustainable development strategies. In addition to his academic and research roles, he serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several reputable international journals. He is also the Director of Media Communication and Outreach at the Social-Ecological System, Policy & Strategy Lab, where he contributes to science communication and strategic environmental policy engagement. He has more than 30 research publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. His scholarly contributions span diverse topics, including the ecological impacts of land use change, climate variability analysis, ecosystem service assessment, and innovative applications of Earth Observation and Remote Sensing for biodiversity and environmental monitoring. His work consistently provides valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners working toward sustainable environmental management, bridging scientific research with practical implementation and enhancing the integration of geospatial technologies into environmental planning and policy frameworks.
