About Yidneckachew's Work

With over 16 years of experience in academia, research and consultancy, I have established a solid professional portfolio in human rights, rural transformations and conflict, specializing in rural land administration laws and policies, communal land and pastoral livelihood rights, environmental justice, political economy, centreperiphery relations, and peacebuilding. My career has encompassed roles that allowed me to contribute significantly to legal, human rights, development and peace education, research, publication, advocacy, and project management. This experience has fostered a deep interest in teaching, research, and consultancy focused on the social construction of human rights ideas, power dynamics, modernist development policies, land policies, customary land administration laws, pastoralism, rural livelihoods, environmental justice, centre-periphery relationships, peacebuilding, and sustainable development.
