About Wilhelm's Work
I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, The University of Dodoma, Tanzania. I have a background in natural sciences having trained in wildlife conservation/ecology, and later morphed into interdisciplinary sciences focusing on environmental governance and conservation social sciences. My research interests hinge on the intersection of political ecology and community conservation. My post-doctoral research centred on the implications of the radical convivial conservation proposal to community conservation and the larger conservation agency in Tanzania, under the CONVIVA project (https://www.convivialconservation.com/). My recent research work has focused on the political economy of conservation, data justice and conservation, decolonizing conservation and integrating convivial conservation theory with practice, exploring pathways to coexistence between lions and humans in the Great Ruaha-Rungwa Ecosystem in Tanzania.
