About Weiye's Work
I am a social scientist for biological conservation, studying the intersection of conservation, governance, and rural development. My current research focuses on the protected area and rural development governance changes in China in target of “Ecological Civilization” and the impacts on the environment and local community. I am an Associate Professor at Renmin University of China. I hold my PhD and MS from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. My work has been published in World Development, Land Use Policy, Forest Policy and Economics, Journal of Contemporary China, among others.
