About Vinay's Work

I am working as Senior Research Fellow at DRPCAU, PUSA, India. Prior  to joining I was working as Assistant Professor in Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, School of Agriculture (Accredited from Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India at Lovely Professional University, Punjab.

I have completed UG (Agriculture) & PG (Agriculture- Genetics and Plant Breeding) from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, West Bengal. I got this opportunity through All India competitive examination conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. In PG (Agriculture- Genetics and Plant Breeding). I worked at CRIJAF in Kolkata for master research work. Title of thesis was “Genetic analysis of fibre anatomy characters in Tossa jute (Corchorus olitorius L.)”. After PG (Agriculture- Genetics and Plant Breeding) I worked as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at CRIJAF. I have awarded PhD in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences from National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Haryana, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India. TI Title of tIsis was “Studies on preventive measure to reduce the postharvest losses in onion (Allium cepa. L)”. From his tIsis research work I have published two research publications in reputed journals i.e. Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical (Impact Factor- 6.393) and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (Impact Factor- 8.456).I have first time reported worldwide on colorimetric sensor for visual detection of post-harvest spoilage in onion. I have honored many awards like National Citizenship Gold Medal Award, Best Achiever, Best Oral Presentation Award and Young Scientist Award from different National organizations.
