About Ursanu's Work
Elena-Ana Ursanu is a senior researcher within the Institute of Geography, Romanian Academy, department of Environment and GIS. The overarching goal of her research activities is focused on land use and land cover changes in the framework of the dynamic social and economic environment. Also, she has a special interest for monitoring agricultural land use changes and assessment their effects on environment and society in the context of socio-political changes over the post-communist period in Romania. Her PhD thesis was focused on the land use dynamic and environmental quality in the piedmont area. She published over 18 volumes or chapters in different volumes, and more than 50 scientific papers, many of them referring to the land cover/land use changes and agriculture issues. She is involved in some important international and national project.
