About Tilahun Dires's Work
Mr. Tilahun Dires Azmeraw is the National of Ethiopia. He graduated in Bachelor of laws (LL.B) in 2016 from Debre Markos University and his Master degree in Land Administration and Management from Bahir Dar University in the year 2018. Since July 2016. He has been working as Lecturer and Researcher at both Institute of Land Administration and School of Law, Debre Markos University. Besides, he has been serving as the Executive Director of Administrative and Students’ Affairs Directorate of Debre Markos University.
Professionally, he has been participating in different research and project works since July 2018 and published articles in peer reviewed journals in the areas of property tax, land law and land management. Tilahun, as an aspiring researcher with a passion for urban expansion, land use law, Environmental law, urban panning law, and land management in rural, urban and peri-urban areas.
Mr. Tilahun has served as President of Debre Markos University Students' Union and Ethiopian Higher Education Institutes Students' Union for two years (2014-2016) which offered him an immense opportunity to participate in different national, Regional (subnational) and international summits by representing the entire Ethiopian Universities' students. He has been active member of the Ethiopian Public Diplomacy council. He was one of the international observers who were invited by the Sudanese Government to observe the administrative referendum implemented on 11-13 April 2016 according to the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
Mr. Tilahun, awarded, by The All-Africa Students Union (AASU) as “Africa Most Enterprising Student Leader-2016" in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the common interest of students and youth in Ethiopia and for that matter to the advancement of the African student movement. In recognition of his tireless and successful leadership in Ethiopian Higher Education Institutions Students' Union, He awarded a Gold Cup in 25th Educational and Training Summit held by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ministry of Education at Mekelle, Ethiopia in 2015.
