About Siyi's Work
Dr. Kan received her Ph.D. in Natural Sciences from Peking University in 2022 and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the interactions between socioeconomic systems and land ecosystems, using multidisciplinary approaches that include GIS, macroeconomic modeling, and ecological modeling. Her work examines the current status of land-use and land-cover change, its socioeconomic drivers (e.g., supply-chain impacts and food system change), eco-environmental consequences (e.g., carbon emissions and biodiversity loss), as well as climate change risks and adaptation. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Nature Communications, One Earth, Land Use Policy, Resources, Conservation and Recycling, Applied Energy, and Energy Policy.
