Simone Corrado

I am a Ph.D.  student at the Laboratory of Urban and Regional (subnational) Systems Engineering (LISUT), School of Engineering, University of Basilicata. He is an Environmental Engineer and is a Ph.D. in "Engineering for innovation and sustainable development". Master graduated cum laude from the University of Basilicata discussing a thesis titled: Machine Learning based approach to assess territorial marginality. My research field concerns the implementation of data-driven models to support and define scenarios for decision making processes in urban and Regional (subnational) planning. My PhD research goal is understanding the dynamics of complex environments, such as the urban one, by combining GeoAI algorithms with XAI (Explainable Artificial Intelligence) techniques for Machine Learning. An additional interest is to analyze local cultural identity through citizen participation in co-design and has already participated in several Geodesign workshops.
