About Shashi's Work

Dr. Shashi Mehta is a versatile professional having two disciplines in her portfolio, Geography, and Planning with a specialization in Regional (subnational) Planning. She holds a B.A. from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, M.A. in Geography from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and a Master Planning in Regional (subnational) Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She has also completed her Ph.D. in Natural Resource Management in the Aravalli Region from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi in the year 2021. She is an associate member of the Institute of Town Planners, India, and an early career member of the Regional (subnational) Studies Association (RSA), United Kingdom. She is also a member of the Society for Ecological Restoration, Washington DC. She has completed two online courses offered by Harvard University and Technical University of Denmark on Cities X and Global Environment Management in the years 2019 and 2023. Her interest has been in, Regional (subnational) and Urban planning-associated issues such as Smart Cities, Natural resource management, environment and development, land use planning, infrastructure development, Community Planning, Poverty, etc. She has presented numerous papers at international and national conferences such as Poland, Dubai, Panchkula, Shillong, etc. She received a bursary for normal travel and accommodation for attending an international conference in Poland. She has four international and eight national publications with a special focus on environment, resources, and planning. Currently, she is employed at Amity University Haryana (Gurugram) as an Assistant Professor with a relevant work experience of about ten years (Since 2013).
