About Shaji's Work
I am graduated in Social Sciences from Mysore University, India (1988); Philosophy from Vidya Niketan, Institute of Philosopy and College Studies, Mysore, India (1988); Theology from Centre for Higher Studies of Juiz de Fora, Brazil (2007) and Law from University of Estácio/College of Pará (FAP), Belem, Brazil (2013). I hold master degree in Urban environmental development from the University of Amazonia (UNAMA), Brazil (2010). Completed doctorate sandwich in Centre for Documentation and Latin American Studies (CEDLA), Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2013 Scholarship -CAPES) and PhD in sustainable development in the Centre for Amazon Tropical Studies of Federal University of Para, Brazil (NAEA/UFPA, 2014 - Scholarship CNPQ). And, post-doctorate at the same institution (2016, scholar PNPD/CAPES). I have 17 years of experience in volunteer work with rural communities of the lower Amazon River, in the State of Pará. I do research on Extractive Land settlement projects of federal government in Amazon and the governance of natural resources by the traditional communities. I am a Lawyer since 2016 and work with environmental and agrarian law. At present I coordinate research on the effect of climate chage and resilience of small urban cities in Amazon, Brazil.
