Shafiyoddin Sayyad

I am a distinguished Professor of Physics and serve as the Head of the Department of Computer and Management Science at Milliya Arts, Science, and Management Science College in Beed, Maharashtra. I obtained my Ph.D. in Physics from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, in 2008, following a Master of Science in Physics.

With over 26 years of teaching experience encompassing Physics and Computer Science, I have made significant contributions to academia and research. I hold four patents, both nationally and internationally, demonstrating my innovative prowess.

Throughout my career, I have mentored 10 Ph.D. students across various disciplines including Physics, Electronics, and Computer Science Engineering. I established the Microwave and Imaging Spectroscopy Research Laboratory at Milliya College, Beed, equipped with cutting-edge facilities, which was recognized by ISRO as one of India's 48 Space Research Labs in 2022.

My involvement in research extends to leading roles in projects funded by ISRO, including two as Principal Investigator. I am also a vital member of ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 and ISRO-NASA Joint Earth Observation Satellite NISAR teams. Recently, I was awarded two major research projects by ISRO focusing on Chandrayaan-2 payload data science for detecting water ice on the Moon's surface.

Internationally, I hold prestigious positions such as being elected as an ISPRS WG/III/3 Working Group Officer in Germany (2023-2026). I am a Senior Member of IEEE, having served as the Secretary of IEEE-GRSS (USA) Bombay Chapter and holding membership in various technical committees.

Recognized for my expertise, I have authored over 100 research papers and 10 book chapters in renowned national and international journals. I have presented my work at numerous conferences worldwide and have been invited as a keynote speaker and session chair.

A lifelong learner and active member of the scientific community, I hold memberships in several academic and scientific organizations. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (IETE) and the Indian Academic Researchers Association (FIARA), showcasing my commitment to advancing research and education in my fields of expertise.
