About Sanju's Work

Dr. Sanju Purohit is a renowned scholar and Associate Professor (Volunteer) in the Department of Environmental/Ecological Studies and Sustainability at Akamai University, USA. She also serves as a Research Fellow with the Women Researchers Council at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and as Associate Editor - North America for the esteemed journal World Water Policy.

Dr. Purohit earned her Ph.D. in Geography, specializing in the ecological study of land, water, and human resources in desert ecosystems, particularly in Rajasthan, India. With over 13 years of academic and research experience, she has emerged as a leading expert in environmental geography, sustainable development, and resource management.

Her extensive research spans critical areas such as land degradation, water resource management, and the socio-economic impacts of climate change. Dr. Purohit’s work has notably influenced policy-making, particularly in water resource management for arid regions like Rajasthan.
