About Ronju's Work

Ronju Ahammad is interested in social-ecological science and interdisciplinary research that bridges disciplinary boundaries to address local and global challenges related to the sustainable use of natural resources, biodiversity conservation, and climate change. Among others, Ronju's works examine the landscape-scale outcomes of forest and agricultural land-use changes on rural livelihoods, ecosystem services, and conservation in low-income countries; Indigenous peoples' biocultural values and the intertwining of traditional ecological knowledge and science for ecological monitoring in Australia; and socio-cultural and economic indicators to evaluate sustainable forestry in Sweden.
