About Prashant's Work
Dr Prashant Sharma is an ARS Scientist (Agroforestry) at the ICAR–Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC), Research Centre, Datia, Madhya Pradesh, India. Earlier, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Silviculture and Agroforestry at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, India. His research focuses on agroforestry systems, ecosystem services, carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and geospatial applications for environmental monitoring and land-use assessment. He has published more than 65 peer-reviewed research articles in reputed international journals, including Agroforestry Systems, Journal of Environmental Management, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Catena, and Frontiers journals. Additionally, he has contributed 12 book chapters on topics related to agroforestry, climate resilience, and sustainable land management. His work broadly addresses climate-resilient agroforestry, soil carbon dynamics, land-use change analysis, and sustainable landscape management, with an emphasis on the application of remote sensing and geospatial tools for ecosystem assessment and biodiversity monitoring. Dr Sharma also serves on the editorial boards of four international journals and actively contributes as a reviewer in the fields of agroforestry, ecosystem ecology, and environmental sustainability.
