About Pradip Kumar's Work

I am a forest and environmental governance researcher based at the Chair of Forestry Policy and Land-use Governance, University of Göttingen, where I completed my PhD in 2021. His work examines how land and forest resources are governed across multiple levels, with a focus on policy coherence, actor power and institutional change in Bangladesh and Southeast Asia. Recent research covers co-managed protected areas, human–wildlife conflict, donor influence in forest policy, and the governance of mangrove and blue-carbon systems. He has published more than twenty peer-reviewed articles and co-supervises doctoral research at the University of Dhaka. Increasingly, his work combines institutional analysis with quantitative and computational methods to make governance processes measurable and comparable across land systems.
