About Pedro's Work

I am a land-use and sustainability scientist at the Conservation Biogeography Lab in Berlin. My work focuses on the diversity, spatial distribution, and temporal dynamics of livestock systems. I am particularly interested in medium-range land-use processes, such as livestock intensification, and in improving large-scale environmental and productivity assessments.

My research also examines trade-offs among ecosystem services across agricultural landscapes, with a strong focus on mapping intensification processes. While my work spans several disciplines, my perspective remains closely connected to the people who manage and work the land. I enjoy collaborating with land managers and food producers, understanding their perspectives, and helping improve the environmental performance of farms.
