About Pablo's Work

Pablo Pacheco is WWF’s Global Forests Lead Scientist, based in Washington DC. He supports WWF’s Global Science Team and the Forest Practice that coordinates forest conservation actions across the globe. He is a Senior Research Associate at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), Bogor, Indonesia. He has an interdisciplinary background. He holds a PhD from the Graduate School of Geography at Clark University, a Msc in Agricultural Economics and a BA in Sociology. Before joining WWF, he led a team conducting global comparative research, outreach and policy engagement on sustainable and inclusive value chains, investments and business models. He also coordinated work on sustainable value chains under the CGIAR Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA). His main research areas focus on the governance of forests, landscape transformation and agrarian change, drivers and dynamics of land use change, and sustainable and inclusive value chains
