About Offoro's Work

Dr. Offoro Kimambo (PhD) is a seasoned meteorologist, environmentalist, and climate science expert with over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy. He currently serves as a member of the academic staff at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania. His work spans meteorology, agriculture, and soft skills for social transformation, with a strong commitment to youth development and climate resilience in Africa.

Dr. Kimambo holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences and Management from SUA, a BSc Honors in Meteorology from the University of Pretoria (South Africa), an MSc in Environmental Sciences (Agriculture) from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (India), and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Venda (South Africa). His research interests include environmental sciences, food systems, weather forecasting, early warning systems, applied climatology, and youth engagement in sustainable development. He has authored several peer-reviewed scientific articles published in international journals.

Beyond academia, Dr. Kimambo has played key roles in numerous high-impact projects as a principal investigator, supervisor, trainer, and facilitator. He has worked with governments and international organizations, including USAID’s Feed the Future initiative, promoting agricultural transformation across Sub-Saharan Africa. He currently serves as the National Team Leader for the FAO-supported project on Sustainable Land Management and Improved Community Resilience in Tanzania’s dryland and livestock migratory areas.
