About Nitin's Work
Nitin is a dedicated PhD candidate in geography at the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, India. His academic journey reflects a strong commitment to the field of geography, having pursued a Master’s degree from the same institution and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Economics from Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU).
Nitin hails from a farming family in Haryana, an agriculture-rich state known for its green revolution. His rural background, combined with his family’s practice of organic agriculture and vermiculture, has profoundly influenced his research interests. His commitment to sustainable and organic farming is evident in his current PhD research, which focuses on organic agriculture in Haryana, a region historically known as the Green Revolution belt of India.
Nitin’s academic prowess is highlighted by his exceptional performance in the National Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor, where he was among the top scorers. He has been awarded the prestigious University Grants Commission (UGC) Fellowship for his PhD studies, recognizing his potential and dedication to the discipline.
Under the esteemed supervision of the late Professor R.B. Singh, a renowned Indian geographer and social scientist, Nitin has embarked on a significant research journey. His work is centered on sustainable agriculture, organic farming, land use and land cover change, and rural development, areas in which he has already made substantial contributions through several publications in international journals.
