About Nina's Work

Nina N. Alekseeva graduated from the Faculty of Geography, Lomonosov Moscow State University, in 1983. She has received the PhD degree in 1988 at the Department of the Physical Geography of Foreign Counties. Currently she holds a position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Global Physical Geography and Geoecology combining it with the position of the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Lomonosov Moscow State University. The area of Nina’s scientific interests covers landscape pattern and environmental problems of Russia and Asian countries, landuse/land cover change, Regional (subnational) issues of sustainable development. She published over 200 scientific works. Alekseeva N. is teaching the following courses for undergraduate students: Physical Geography of the world, Physical Geography and Regional (subnational) Geoecology of Asia, Development and Transformation of Landscapes, Sustainable Use of Forest Landscapes, Ethnic and Cultural Dimensions of Geoecology, for graduate students: Environmental Management and Regional (subnational) Environmental Policy. N. Alekseeva participated in the elaboration of Environmental Program for Sochi-2014 Olympic Games. She was in charge for several projects under Russian Geographical Society, Russian Foundation for basic research, UNEP, joint Russian-Swedish project on Education for sustainable development.
