About Nathália's Work
Geographer with a Ph.D. in Earth System Sciences from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE-Brazil), specializing in land use dynamics, particularly in the Amazon region. During her doctorate, she focused on modeling land use decisions in agricultural frontier zones within the Brazilian Amazon. Currently, she is a professor at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (ESALQ/USP) and coordinator of the Environmental Policy and Education Laboratory - OCA. Her research centers on understanding the relationship between policies and land use dynamics in the countries of this region and on projects studying ecosystem services (beyond carbon) provided by South American forests.
