About Mihai Daniel's Work
Mihai Daniel Niță is a Professor at the Faculty of Silviculture and Forest Engineering, Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. He holds a PhD in Forestry Sciences from Transilvania University of Brașov (2011), with a specialization in forestry, applied remote sensing in torrential watershed management. His academic background is further distinguished by a tenure as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA (2016–2017), where he conducted advanced research in remote sensing applications for forestry. He also completed a specialized training program in Environmental Governance at Jesus College, Oxford.
In his professional career, Dr. Niță combines academic leadership with practical industry experience. Since 2012, he has served in various teaching and research roles at Transilvania University of Brașov, rising to the position of Full Professor and PhD supervisor
Dr. Niță is an active member of the scientific community, currently serving as a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences "Gheorghe Ionescu-Sisesti" (A.S.A.S.). He sits on the editorial boards of several high-impact journals His research portfolio includes coordination and participation in numerous national and international projects (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, LIFE), with a primary focus on remote sensing, GIS, forest management, and geospatial modeling.
