About Michal's Work

Michal Switalski is a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zürich, working within the Planning of Landscapes and Peri-Urban & Urban Systems, research group. His work focuses on advancing scientific understanding through quantitative measurement methods, particularly in the context of place-making and human behavior. With expertise spanning spatial sciences, including statistical analysis, planning, design, and visualization, Michal’s interdisciplinary approach integrates both traditional and cutting-edge machine learning techniques. Passionate about clear communication across diverse fields, he aims to make research accessible and relevant to broad audiences. Outside of academia, he enjoys long-distance cycling, coaching bike polo, and playing jazz piano.
