About Mercy's Work

Mercy Funke Salami bagged First Class Honours Bachelor in Agriculture and a Distinction in M.Sc. Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria in 2012 and 2016 respectively. She has been a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management since 2014. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management. She is also a research associate with the University of Ilorin Sugar research Institute. Mercy is a recipient of several prizes, fellowships and grants.  Her main area of research has been in Agricultural Development Economics. Under this major research area, she concentrate more on issues of Land Economics and governance Ecosystem services, Food Security/Sovereignty and nutrition, climate change, poverty, impact assessment and migration with special focus on Nigeria. She is both an independent researcher and an active collaborator in several research projects, with a growing list of fourteen (14) publications in local and international peer reviewed journals.
