Matthew Pflaum

Matthew Pflaum is finishing his PhD at the University of Florida in Geography, specializing in insecurity among marginalized and vulnerable populations in Mali and the wider Sahel. He seeks to integrate socio-cultural livelihoods, mobility, space, and violence into establishing vulnerabilities to violence and insecurity through a spatial insecurity model. He uses critical political ecology and spatial theories and frameworks to examine pastoralist insecurity.
