About Martha's Work

I am a researcher in the department of Environment and Sustainability at the Instituto de EcologĂa (Inecol) in Xalapa, Mexico. My research examines how ecological and social factors drive land use and land cover change in tropical ecosystems. Using a multi-scale approach, I analyze regional land-use dynamics and key crop expansion, explore local socio-ecological interactions between landscapes and productive activities, and investigate the processes that hinder or facilitate forest recovery. My work aims to support the sustainability of land systems and inform decision-making toward more resilient tropical landscapes.
