About Mark's Work

Two main areas of interest. 1. Urban ecology, particularly with an emphasis on human-wildlife interactions. This work focuses on human behaviours (bird feeding, domestic pet ownership; domestic garden management) and consequences for biodiversity. Current projects on domestic cats in UK, Brazil, Nigeria, red kites in UK and allied projects on sloth bears-human conflict in India, macaws in urban Brazil. 2. Host parasitoid interactions, with an emphasis on the influence of host plant quality on parasitoid fitness, particularly as influenced by plant pathogens, and considers insect pest species in particular. Current projects on aphids and stored product pests in UK and Ghana.
