About Mário's Work

Mário Marcos do Espírito Santo received his PhD in Ecology, Conservation and Management of Wildlife in Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He currently works as a professor at the State University of Montes Claros, in Minas Gerais state, Brazil, and participates in several collaborative research network, such as Tropi-Dry, 2ndFOR and Rede Matas Secas. His main research interests include ecosystem functioning and the natural regeneration of tropical dry forests, with focus in plant-animal interactions; land use changes and their consequences for biodiversity and human welfare; and conservation and development policies for tropical dry forests in Brazil.
