About Mariette's Work

Passionate about biodiversity conservation and non-Timber Forest Products domestication, I hold a master's degree in Natural Resources Management, and I am currently in the fourth year of a Ph.D. program focusing on Knowledge, Conservation, and Valorisation of Biodiversity. My academic journey has been a thorough exploration of issues related to the sustainable management of Natural Resources and Biodiversity conservation. Aware of the necessity and challenges related to human-nature interaction, my research has been aimed to address current challenges in conservation and improve peoples’ livelihoods. In parallel with my studies, I have been involved in research projects focused on the valorization and domestication of the African baobab (Adansonia digitata L.). My current research is focused on the domestication and adaptation of the African baobab (Adansonia digitata L.) to climate change.
