About Marie's Work
As part of my PhD in Forest Resources Management at UBC Vancouver, using a political ecology approach, I am studying how swidden cultivation contributes to the food security of a small Indigenous community in the Philippines. I am from France but spent the last 20 years abroad, working in the field of Food Security/Sovereignty and livelihoods for international NGOs. I worked and lived in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, the Philippines, Niger, Uganda, Mozambique, plus several short missions in other countries.
