About Mariatu's Work

I am Bankolay Theodore Turay  a graduate from the University of Makeni, Sierra Leone-West Africa with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Development Studies. I have strong interest and working directly with communities focusing on research, and women's right to land through NELGA. The absence of land governance and policy experts has been a huge challenge. Whilst working with University of Makeni as Research Assistant I became strongly motivated to pursue Land Governance. Through the DAAD scholarship under the programme In Country/In-Region Scholarship Programme SLGA, 2020 I was fortunate to be awarded the scholarship to pursue a Master’s programme in Land Governance and Policy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), to help in addressing that gap particularly in my country Sierra Leone and the sub-region.
