About MariaCristina's Work
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia. I studied biology and worked ten yeras with an ONG in the Colombian Amazon. Then I became a mother and decided to study a Masc degree in Forests Resources Management. I worked 17 yeras at the National University in Colombia and in 2014 I decided to come to work in Ecuador in THe Universidad Regional (subnational) Amazonica Ikiam. I´m lectirer in Ecology and recently I star with a class in Urban Ecology, but I´m not an expert. I would like to improve my skill in this topic. In just 8 years I have seen a tremendous transformation of the small city I´m living, and I really would like to move with my students towards a sustainable enviroronment, a city of the forest.
I live in Tena, located in the Andean-Amazon piedmont forest, on a very fragile but beautiful ecosystem.
