About Maria's Work

Maria Kernecker is an environmental scientist and Group Leader at ZALF. Her research explores the relationship between people and landscapes through the lenses of agriculture, biodiversity and food. Drawing on methodologies from landscape ecology, anthropology and sociology, she aims to inform practices for resilient living systems. She also contributes to collective efforts towards rethinking how we do science.
