About Maria's Work
Maria Gerullis working on the economics of plant breeding for her doctoral thesis. She is taking a social-ecological systems perspective on the governance of seed systems and research infrastructures as an agricultural economist. To do so her methods repertoire spans from qualitative interviews for institutional analysis, to quantitative analyses with Statistics/Econometrics and programming of agent-based models/simulations to inquire how farmer behavior/heuristics influences economic and ecological outcomes in farm crops.
