About Maria's Work
María Boa Alvarado is passionate about transitions towards climate-resilient and sustainable food systems.
She is currently a PhD candidate at Cornell University whose research is rooted in the Mayan milpa landscape (Ich Kool) in Mexico, examining its future trajectories and pathways of transformation.
Before joining Cornell, María worked as a scaling expert in sustainable agrifood systems. She researched and facilitated participatory processes in Latin America, Africa, and South Asia.
