About Margaret Tinashe's Work

Margaret Tinashe Nkhosi is the Founder and Managing Consultant of ZamCarto Solutions, a Zambian-based firm advancing creative and data-driven applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in conservation, rural development, and education. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Mulungushi University, where her research focuses on optimizing the financial performance of Community Resource Boards (CRBs) in Zambia using spatial analysis and financial data.

Margaret has extensive experience in spatial data quality management, nonprofit organizational development, and environmental project implementation. She has supported technical assistance, training, and strategic oversight in previous roles with USAID’s Integrated Land and Resource Governance (ILRG) program, ActionAid Zambia, and the GFA Consulting Group.

A multi-sectoral leader, Margaret serves on the Board of ActionAid Zambia, contributes to advocacy and learning through the Gender Equality in Development and Aid (GEDA) network, and has mentored early-stage enterprises through the GIZ FIT4Mentorship Program. She has managed biodiversity grant projects, presented at innovation forums like Lusaka Slush’d, and led the development of GIS content and tools for creative platforms like Canva under ZamCarto’s rebranding efforts.

Her academic foundation includes a BEng in Environmental Engineering, MBA, and ongoing doctoral research that bridges sustainability, governance, and technology. Margaret is passionate about African-led development, conservation finance, and gender inclusion in data-driven fields.
