About Manisha's Work
Manisha Jain received a PhD in Regional (subnational) development planning from Stuttgart University in Germany. Since 2015 she is a senior researcher at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional (subnational) Development in Germany. She worked as an urban planner in India for approximately six years before moving to Germany. Her research focuses on discerning and understanding the processes of growth and change that leads to the formation of cities and regions, specifically, centring on the theoretical and empirical analysis of spatial transformation, Simulation Modelling (ABM/Predictive/Economic modelling) effects of infrastructure on aggravation of sociospatial disparities, and analysis and prediction of land use change in the Global South.
