About Lucas's Work
Lucas Seghezzo was born in Carlos Paz, Argentina, in 1965. In 1990 he obtained his Bachelor in Natural Resources with distinction at the National University of Salta (UNSa), Argentina. He received cum laude his Master on Environmental Sciences at Wageningen Agricultural University, the Netherlands, in 1997. He holds a Ph.D. on Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University (mentored by Prof. Gatze Lettinga and Dr. Grietje Zeeman). He has experience in the public and private sector. He was Senior Consultant for the Lettinga Associates Foundation (LeAF) from 2004 through 2007. He is doing research on land use change, sustainability, and land tenure conflicts in Northwestern Argentina. He is currently Principal Investigator with the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET). He is based at the Research Institute on Renewable Energy (INENCO) in Salta. He teaches Environmental Sociology at the National University of Salta (UNSa), where he is Adjunct Professor. He is also part of the Latin America Focal Point of the Land Matrix initiative.
