About Letícia's Work

Letícia Lima is an Associate Professor at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. She is an Environmental Engineer (Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto, Brazil) with a Master Degree in Environmental Systems Analysis and Simulation Modelling (ABM/Predictive/Economic modelling) (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil), and a PhD degree in Geography (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany).  She also worked as a research associate for five years at the Centro de Sensoriamento Remoto (Earth Observation/Remote Sensing Center, CSR/UFMG) where she focused her research on spatial Simulation Modelling (ABM/Predictive/Economic modelling) as a tool for territorial planning, working with land use change simulations, hydrology, and logging rent models. Her PhD research was focused on conservation agreements in the form of payments for water-related ecosystem services. She enjoys doing research with Mixed Methods and collaborative work using tools from natural and social sciences.
