About Leah's Work

My research explores complexities in human-environment interactions found in small farming systems and Agri-Forest heterogenous landscapes. I apply geographic and agroecology principles that are context specific to develop basic research questions and build on socio-ecological theoretical frameworks tied to broader aspects of agri-food systems. I utilize multi-methods, integrating geospatial technologies, deep learning with social-ecological datasets to improve our understanding of agri-food systems, and land use management. My research has implications to understanding Food Security/Sovereignty, land resource and environmental sustainability for rural communities locally and internationally.
