About LAXMI KANT's Work

Dr.Laxmi Kant Sharma received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degree in Botany with specialization in ecology & environment from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur (India). He received a PG.diploma as well as an M.Tech in Earth Observation/Remote Sensing & GIS from the Indian Institute of Earth Observation/Remote Sensing (ISRO), Dehradun (India) and he was a fellow of CSIR from 2000 to 2006. He was associated as faculty with Birla Institute of Technology (BIT-Mesra) Ranchi and the Central University of Jharkhand from 2007-2015 and now he is currently a Professor in Environmental Science at Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer (India) since 2015. Dr. Sharma is the author of more than 40 peer-reviewed national and international journal articles and other publications and many books and also serves as an editorial board member of various International Journals. Dr. Sharma had also been associated with many M.Tech. Projects and Ph.D. research works related to Wildlife Habitat Management, Forest Fire Risk Modeling & Assessment, Ecological Footprints for Sustainable Development, etc. He has carried out research work in different phenological areas of India like Sariska (Rajasthan), Bhimbandh (Bihar), Shimla (H.P.), etc. Dr. Sharma has worked extensively with optical and Microwave Earth Observation/Remote Sensing data, with research support from the Space Application Centre (ISRO), NRSC (ISRO), Ministry of EnvironmentForests & Climate change (GoI). His research focuses on Earth Observation/Remote Sensing and GIS analysis of environmental systems, land-use and land-cover changes, climate change impacts, and human-environment interactions.
