About Kiros Meles's Work
Dr. Kiros Meles Hadgu is a Scientist and Country Representative of the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in Ethiopia. He is also an affiliate Scientist of Colorado State University in USA (http://www.ccb-boulder.org/about/people/), Global Scientific Committee of the 2019 World Congress of Agroforestry (https://agroforestry2019.cirad.fr/committees/scientific-committee) and recently contributing to the Mountain Futures Initiative, as a Chair Person of the African Centre. Before he joined ICRAF, he was working in Mekelle University, Ethiopia as an Associate Professor. He holds a PhD degree in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation from the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands. He has more than 20 years of work experiences in Research and Development in Ethiopia and other African countries, and published more than 76 scientific publications (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=C-z4W1EAAAAJ&hl=en). His research work and experiences include, but not limited to, Geo-spatial and Earth Observation/Remote Sensing based landscape analysis and monitoring systems; spatial and socio-economic modeling; intensification and diversification of agroforestry systems; and forest landscape restoration and sustainable natural resource management for improving resilience, productivity and profitability of agriculture, ecosystem services, livelihoods, rural jobs and resilience capacities of rural communities to climate changes.
