• Integrated water management in rural and urban areas; • Ecosystem engineering and environmental security; • River restoration and rehabilitation with particular scope on urbanscapes; • River ecological status assessment based on hydrochemical parameters and fish indicatory species; • Implementation of plant buffering zones for improvement of water purification processes and protection of water quality, biodiversity and habitats; Eight year experience in: • Implementation of DPSIR and ISSE models and analyses of landscape changes and their influence on water quality, climate and social and economic processes • Assessment of driving conditions and thresholds to development of blue-green infrastructure in cities and related nature-based solutions; • Defining natural and human potential with respect to cities adaptability to global chnages: climatic, demographic and economic; • Defining role and implementation of green infrastructure and natural capital concepts into environmental management; • Analysis of an influence of social, cultural and economic factors on environmental quality and coevolution of socio-ecological systems; • Assessment of cities resilience with respect to environmental management systems, administrative structures, competencies and stakeholders interactions; • Development of European policies supporting adaptability of society to global changes and sustainable development based on ecosystem services, nature-based solutions and biodiversity. • Revitalization of cities with focus on water sensitive urban design, ecosystem services for environmental security of cities, adaptability of cities to global change and social equity.
