About Kenneth's Work
Kenneth R. Young is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Geography & the Environment of UT-Austin. His research and teaching interests are focused on the ecological sustainability of natural resources and of ecosystems. He is particularly involved with studies of how global changes are affecting coupled natural-human systems. As an example, he is involved with research on how glacier recession changes hydrological regimes and associated land use systems in the tropical Andes. His areas of expertise include biodiversity conservation, climate change, land use, and ecological restoration. Most of his fieldwork has been in Central and South America, and southern Africa.
