About Kashimana's Work
Ivo Kashimana is from Nigeria, a political ecologist with academic backgrounds in environmental biology, geographic information systems, climatology, land-use change, and agriculture and forest resource economics. Miss Ivo has worked for varied periods in the private sector, Nongovernmental organization, and Development Corporation. Miss Ivo has worked as a landscape analyst, conservation officer, climate change projects officer, and environmental management consultant. Recently Miss Ivo co-founded an environmental consulting firm in Nigeria, Biomes Conservation Limited, with the sole aim of working with governments, development agencies, and communities to improve rural livelihoods in Nigeria. Miss Ivo's research interest and career path is at the intersection between agriculture and forestry land-use systems. She investigates land-use conflicts in Nigeria and implications for Food Security/Sovereignty and other development objectives. Miss Ivo is rounding up her doctoral studies in a few months and it is her desire to become a Policy Analyst for Nigeria in the nearest future.
