About Karuna's Work
Karuna Paudel is WWF’s Senior Ecosystem Carbon Specialist, based in Washington DC. She supports WWF’s work on ecosystem carbon science and ecosystem accounting and valuation works across the globe. She has an interdisciplinary background. She holds a PhD from the Warnell school of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia, a Msc in GIS and a BS in Environmental Science. Before joining WWF, she worked on models related to forest carbon accounting for projects in North America. Her main research areas focus ecosystem service valuation, carbon accounting, understanding climate co-benefits and drivers of land use and land-cover change.
