About Karina's Work

I am a senior researcher at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) in Argentina, where I lead the AgTech–Geomatics Group. My work focuses on integrating geospatial data, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and digital twins to support sustainable land-use management and decision-making in agricultural systems.
With more than 20 years of experience, I contribute to applied innovation in AgTech, promoting open innovation and collaboration between research institutions, startups, SMEs, and the public sector. I actively participate in AgTech clusters and regional innovation hubs, fostering ecosystems that support sustainable territorial development.
I hold a Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management and a degree in Information Systems Engineering, which allows me to bridge environmental science with data analytics and digital technologies. My research and projects address land-use dynamics, environmental planning, and Agriculture 4.0 solutions.
In parallel, I am a university professor in Argentina and internationally, teaching geospatial technologies and digital agriculture. I am also an active member of international scientific networks focused on land systems, remote sensing, and sustainability.
Through my work, I aim to advance data-driven approaches to better understand and manage land systems, contributing to resilience, sustainability, and innovation in agricultural landscapes.
