About John Didacus's Work

John Didacus Njoku is an Associate Professor of Environmental Management at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. He holds a BSc degree (Geography and Regional (subnational) Planning), MSc (Geography and Planning – Earth Observation/Remote Sensing and digital mapping) and PhD (Geography and Environmental Resource Management) from the University of Benin, Benin City, University of Lagos, Akoka and Imo State University Owerri, all in Nigeria. His research centers on Earth Observation/Remote Sensing application in Environmental Monitoring and Sustainable Governance. He is a Research Affiliate, Institute of Environmental Health and Justice, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria and Research Fellow, the Earth System Governance Network, Sweden. He was invited to the 1st and 2nd African Food Security/Sovereignty Conference in 2013 and 2015 and to the International Conference on Applied Geo-informatics for Society and Environment in 2011 all in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2009, he represented the User Community at the Third African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in Algiers, Algeria, among others. He is Rapporteur of the Nigeria National Branch, Ecosystem Based Adaptation for Food Security/Sovereignty in Africa Assembly. He is a member of the Nigerian Cartographic Association, Association of Nigerian Geographers and Nigerian Environmental Society. He is editor of Journal of Cartography and GIS -  a Journal of the Nigerian Cartographic Association of  and has published severally in reputable Earth Observation/Remote Sensing, Geographic Information System and allied Journals.
